We know that you’re not alone in wanting a new experience. That’s why River’s Edge exists. We all needed to experience a different kind of church and a very real irreligious Jesus. We strive to be the kind of community that would reflect the inclusive heart of God. Together we want to be the kind of place that accepts people the way they are and journeys together towards transformation.
We’re merely imperfect people who are striving to live authentic lives. You could say we’re all flawed, broken and in need of genuine relationships. Whatever stage of life you’re in: single, married, or somewhere in between, you’re welcome here. After all we’re all hypocrites in transition.
Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, we want you to know that we’re a community of followers of Jesus Christ, that are committed to live by faith, to be known by love and to be a voice of hope.
The Refreshment Break
This is our 10 minute intermission and whether you’ve heard of it or not, it is a time in our Gatherings typically after worship and before the message where people can stretch their legs, meet new people, and reconnect with old friends. Great desserts, fruit and hot or cold beverages are offered weekly.
The Arts
What also makes River’s Edge like no other church experience in Quebec is our multi-sensory arts style. Each Sunday in our gatherings our team of Artisans offer an experience that emphasizes the arts by using theatre, storytelling, humour, multimedia, film, live musical performances and dance. Relevant messages are heard each week that connect with people’s every day lives and that face the issues of our day and culture.
Social Justice
We believe in meeting needs in our community and around the world. Whether directly involved or partnering with others, we believe that social justice can be achieved. Through monthly financial support and mission trip experiences, we are involved in various parts of the world. Locally we run our own programs and provide both financial and volunteer support to many other deserving organizations making a difference in Quebec.
Real Not Religious
There are many other things that make River’s Edge like no other church experience in Quebec. We are a multi-cultural and dynamic gathering of people from varying experiences and places. We encourage you to check us out and see for yourself why this is a place where you can belong before you believe! Your spiritual journey of following Jesus Christ will be challenged, but you will be accepted as you are and encouraged to journey at your own pace.
Seekers
What all seekers have in common is the fact that they’ve stopped pretending they have it all together. They’re open to the possibility that God may exist, and more importantly, that He may want a place in their lives. Seekers know they don’t know – but they want to find out and are looking for the right place and people to journey with.
